An extension designed around an oven? This owner has a passion for cooking and when she decided to extend the first thing she did was purchase her beautiful handmade Lacanche oven. The oven was to sit nicely inside the existing chimney however the oven she purchased was too big! It was the butt of many jokes throughout the build as we established a great relationship with the owner during this live-in extension. However, the result was stunning! We propped the chimney and retro fitted steel lintels and bricked it back up to accommodate the oven. The kitchen was designed with the owner ensuring all the subtleties of aesthetic and function were considered. We thoroughly enjoyed this project working with the owner filling in design gaps along the way to achieve a seamless addition to this period home!
